Job Requirements
- No previous restaurant experience required
- Flexible to work day, evening, and weekend shifts
- Able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Physical ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Basic math skills
- Ability to operate a POS system
- Willingness to complete required training courses
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
Job Qualifications
- Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a POS system
- Obtain or successfully finish and maintain Dust Bowl's paid Food Safety Certificate training
- Possess or complete and maintain a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Alcohol Certificate
- Complete and maintain Dust Bowl's paid Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence Training
- Excellent communication skills
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand and move consistently during shift
Job Duties
- Warmly and graciously greet all guests immediately upon arrival
- ID all guests upon arrival with Intellicheck software
- Explain Dust Bowl’s food truck and beer service being different than any other standard restaurant
- Professional phone presentation, attending to high volume phone calls and transfers to personnel, and making reservations
- Accurate handling of cash and credit card payments for retail, take-out, to-go beer, and growler(s)/crowler(s)
- Accommodate special seating requests for guest(s) whenever possible
- Seat guest(s) based on guest(s) preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations per SOP training
- When seating the guest, inform them of their server’s name
- Inspect tables for proper presentation, arrangement, and completeness
- Spot sweep and check the floors, stock baskets, and bathroom cleaning rotations regularly during shift and various end-of-day cleaning duties
- Relay messages to servers and managers as needed
- Happily, thank guests as they leave and invite them to return to Dust Bowl
- When there is downtime, bus tables, run food/drinks, dry trays, roll silverware, etc.
- Side work, sweeping, cleaning windows, stock baskets, and bathrooms
