Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
previous lead host(ess) experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant preferred
must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
must be able to converse with guests in a warm, friendly, gracious manner
must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
must enjoy guest service, have excellent organization skills and sense of timing
able to stand and walk quickly for periods of up to four hours
able to lift up to 20 pounds
must be 18 or older to apply

Job Duties

Greets guests upon arrival, escorts them to their table, provides menu, wine list, and highlights best-of-season specialties
maximizes guest seating and table turns, ensuring a smooth flow of the restaurant, including proper section rotation
manages special seating requests consistent with availability
relays messages to servers or server assistants as appropriate
answers telephone, gives directions to restaurant, addresses questions, and takes reservations and messages
