Job Duties
- Answer phone calls and inquiries, providing accurate information about the restaurant
- resolve issues or concerns with dining arrangements in a professional and timely manner
- ensure guests feel comfortable and welcome throughout their dining experience
- assist servers and other staff members as needed
- maintain a clean and organized hostess station
- provide guests with menus and other relevant information
- set up and maintain the hostess station
- assist with bussing and resetting tables
- work nights and weekends as required
- warmly greet guests as they arrive, creating a positive first impression
- direct guests to the appropriate area, such as the waiting area or their table
- assign guests to tables efficiently, considering preferences and restaurant layout
- maintain a seating chart to ensure efficient table turnover and avoid overbooking
- manage the waiting list and communicate wait times to guests
- take and manage reservations, ensuring accurate record-keeping
