Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous lead host(ess) experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant preferred
  • must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
  • must be able to converse with guests in a warm, friendly, gracious manner
  • must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • must enjoy guest service
  • have excellent organization skills and sense of timing
  • able to stand and walk quickly for periods of up to four hours
  • able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • must be 18 or older to apply

  • must possess excellent guest relations skills

Job Duties

  • Greets guests upon arrival, escorts them to their table, provides menu, wine list, and highlights best-of-season specialties
  • maximizes guest seating and table turns, ensuring a smooth flow of the restaurant, including proper section rotation
  • manages special seating requests consistent with availability
  • relays messages to servers or server assistants as appropriate
  • answers telephone, gives directions to restaurant, addresses questions, and takes reservations and messages
