Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field
  • Three to five years of experience in hospitality sales and business development
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality industry and market trends
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close contracts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Leadership and mentoring experience
  • Willingness to attend industry events and networking opportunities

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration with an emphasis on sales, or a related field
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in sales and business development within the hospitality industry
  • Strong understanding of hospitality industry, sales processes, and market trends
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
  • Exceptional negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented with a passion for driving sales and revenue growth
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with Raisers Edge and Financial Edge is a plus

Job Duties

  • Identify and develop potential social and corporate clients through networking, cold calling, participation in industry events and trade shows, communication with interdepartmental colleagues, market research, and other sales techniques
  • Execute high-volume sales for hospitality events and programming across ArtsQuest campuses and venues
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans in collaboration with Senior Director of Hospitality to meet or exceed revenue goals
  • Coordinate with internal departments to discuss and integrate add-on event services including production assistance, ticketing sales, and valet service
  • Collaborate with hospitality and Food & Beverage teams to create tailored, persuasive proposals highlighting ArtsQuest's venues
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, event planners, and individual clients
  • Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to develop effective pricing strategies
  • Prepare annual catering budgets and quarterly revenue forecasts
  • Present accurate sales reports analyzing performance metrics, client acquisition, and improvement areas
  • Negotiate contract terms ensuring compliance with legal and insurance requirements while meeting client expectations
  • Manage and mentor Hospitality Specialist providing training on sales techniques and customer service
  • Communicate contract terms clearly to ensure accurate event details and exceptional customer service
  • Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and implement development plans
  • Foster a positive work environment through team spirit, recognition, and engagement
  • Address and resolve team issues or disputes professionally and timely
  • Guide the team through organizational changes and process updates smoothly
