Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel or Restaurant Management or related field
  • minimum of four years of service management experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • valid driver's license
  • physical ability for sustained standing, frequent bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • effective communication skills
  • leadership experience managing diverse, unionized teams
  • proficiency in relevant software
  • ability to plan and execute large-scale catering events
  • reliable and detail-oriented
  • commitment to maintaining safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel or Restaurant Management or related field
  • minimum of four years of service management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ServSafe certification
  • valid driver's license
  • exceptional communication skills
  • strong leadership and team management abilities
  • proficiency with food service management systems or similar software
  • experience in menu development and customer service standards
  • proven ability to manage unionized staff
  • demonstrated organizational and planning skills
  • experience in conducting service inspections and quality assurance
  • ability to handle financial monitoring and reporting
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and related computer applications

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize and manage residential dining operations, executive dining, and conference services
  • provide support in designing and creating quality dining experiences including setup, decoration, and special events
  • collaborate with culinary teams on menu forecasting and development
  • oversee food service standards, customer service policies, and quality assurance
  • conduct service inspections and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • obtain and respond to guest feedback
  • implement housekeeping, sanitary and safety regulations
  • maintain strong relationships with university stakeholders
  • supervise dining room operations during meal periods and events
  • monitor revenue and expenses through financial reports
  • manage payroll, scheduling, and attendance as assigned
  • support purchasing control and inventory maintenance
  • prepare operational reports and analyses with recommendations
  • interview, train, evaluate, and manage service and support staff
  • maintain employee relations and resolve workplace issues
  • conduct performance evaluations
  • enforce university policies
  • perform other duties as assigned
