Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous cashier experience preferred
  • knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures
  • account balancing skills
  • knowledge of and adherence to applicable HIPAA regulations
  • knowledge of and adherence to safety practices including incident reporting, handling wastes, sharps and linens, PPE, exposure control plan, hand washing, and environment of care

Job Duties

  • Receives and records cash or charge payments from customers
  • balances cash receipts against register tape daily
  • greets customers pleasantly and respectfully
  • calculates total cost of items on food trays and processes payments accurately
  • compares cash register totals with currency amounts to verify balances
  • serves food and maintains clean work areas
  • sets up and adjusts menu boards
  • ensures menu item presentation meets standards
  • arranges and replenishes food and utensils as needed
  • provides friendly and efficient customer service
  • cleans cafeteria and serving areas continually
  • maintains appearance of equipment and counters
  • performs other assigned duties
