Job Description
South Suburban Park and Recreation District (SSPRD) is a well-established public organization dedicated to fostering healthy living through stewardship of the environment, parks, trails, and open spaces. Serving residents across various communities including Bow Mar, Columbine Valley, Centennial, Littleton, Lone Tree, Sheridan, and unincorporated areas of Douglas, Jefferson, and Arapahoe counties, SSPRD manages a vast range of recreational facilities and amenities. Job Requirements
- must possess a valid Colorado Driver License or the ability to obtain upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record
- ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to stand, walk, operate office equipment, reach, carry, pull, push, and lift up to 25 lbs
- may occasionally lift up to 40-50 lbs with or without assistance
- ability to see close up and at a distance
- effective communication skills
- regular and reliable attendance
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
- one year of previous experience in event planning, marketing, or public relations
- experience with social media strongly preferred
- supervisory experience preferred
- successful in building professional relationships and collaborating with others
- highly motivated, sales oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- ability to assist clients with planning and executing their events
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
- ability to provide outstanding customer service and interact professionally with employees, patrons, and vendors
Job Duties
- Proactively prospect for new business through leads, existing client base, and industry involvement
- schedule and participate in property tours with clients
- close new sales and events with interested clients during or after tours
- finalize all details for special events and create floor plans for the operations team and day of execution teams
- ensure all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
- assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising personnel
- develop, implement, and track marketing strategies
- handle final billing, close accounts post-event, and set up routine follow-up
- coordinate with staff for set up and tear down of event spaces
- address complaints and solve problems as needed
- provide invoicing for special events
- participate in staff meetings and various district committee meetings
- assist with food and beverage operations as needed
- attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations
- create schedules by guest needs, event needs, and facility needs
- work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- other duties as assigned by the Hospitality Manager
