Job Description

South Suburban Park and Recreation District (SSPRD) is a comprehensive community-focused organization dedicated to fostering healthy living through the stewardship of environment, parks, trails, and open spaces by providing exceptional recreational services and programs. SSPRD serves several communities including Bow Mar, Columbine Valley, Centennial west of I-25, Littleton, Lone Tree, Sheridan, and unincorporated areas of Douglas, Jefferson, and Arapahoe counties. Job Requirements

  • valid Colorado Driver License or ability to obtain and maintain
  • ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • must be able to stand, walk, reach, carry, push or lift weights as required
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • reliable and punctual
  • willingness to participate in staff meetings and training sessions

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, public relations or related field
  • one year of previous experience in event planning, marketing or public relations
  • experience with social media strongly preferred
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work independently and in team environments
  • highly motivated and sales oriented
  • able to assist clients with event planning and execution

Job Duties

  • Proactively prospects for new business through leads, existing client base, and industry involvement
  • schedules and participates in property tours with clients
  • follows up meetings and tours with clients to ensure goals are achieved
  • closes new sales and events with interested clients during or after tours
  • finalizes all details for special events and creates floor plans for the operations team and day of execution teams
  • ensures that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times
  • assists with hiring, training, scheduling, supervising personnel for grill and banquets
  • assists with the development, implementation, and tracking of a marketing strategy
  • handles final billing, closes accounts post-event, and sets up routine follow-up to increase return business
  • addresses complaints and solves problems as needed
  • provides invoicing for special events
  • participates in staff meetings and district committee meetings
  • provides assistance with food orders, POS entry, and beverage service
  • supports daily operations including inventory management and staff scheduling
  • collaborates with management and custodial staff on facility maintenance tasks
  • works evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • assists at other district golf courses as required
