Job Requirements
- ability to pass criminal drug and driving background checks
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical capability to lift carry and move objects up to 60 pounds occasionally push up to 100 pounds
- valid driver’s license with good driving record
- ability to work in aseptic environments and handle exposure to chemicals dirt and infectious materials
- willingness to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access if required
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- prior experience as a housekeeper or in a related custodial role preferred
- ability to read write and understand English
- knowledge of general cleaning equipment and chemical safety procedures
- ability to follow detailed instructions and safety data sheets
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- effective communication skills
Job Duties
- perform a variety of routine custodial duties maintaining cleanliness of assigned hospital areas
- mix water and chemicals for cleaning according to safety guidelines
- clean patient rooms wards nursing stations lounges laboratories bathrooms offices and other facilities
- sweep mop floors operate cleaning equipment including buffers and wet vacuums
- dust and clean furniture fixtures walls ceilings windows and equipment
- stock and clean dispensers including soap air fresheners paper towels and toilet paper
- remove and dispose of trash waste and recyclables according to protocols
