Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous custodial or environmental services experience preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Ability to operate custodial equipment such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining sanitation standards
  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure
  • Removes and properly handles soiled linen
  • disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms
  • dust and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant
  • Empties and relines wastebaskets, regulated medical waste containers, and recycle containers
  • Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean-up according to procedure
  • Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors
  • Performs in between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure
  • Vacuums and spot cleans carpets
  • operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors
  • Follows written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, personal protective apparel, supplies, and equipment
