Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or similar degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • hotel operations experience including knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements
  • Certified Hospitality Administrator designation (preferred)
  • presentation and facilitation skills (preferred)
  • excellent customer service skills
  • previous hospitality industry experience (preferred)
  • hotel management operations experience (preferred)
  • knowledge of government relations regarding hotel operations (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the hotel establishment
  • supervise direct reports and indirect reports
  • perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, training programs, and applicable laws
  • plan, organize, and assign work as needed
  • develop and communicate strategies and goals
  • train and advise team of policies and procedures
  • responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and performance appraisals
  • set performance expectations aligned with General Manager Standard Operating Procedures manual
  • ensure regular, ongoing communication within all departments
  • create an operations environment that ensures consistent guest satisfaction
  • monitor hotel performance through guest satisfaction tools and financial reports
  • communicate departmental goals for desired results
  • maintain product and service quality standards by conducting evaluations and investigating complaints
  • develop long and short-term financial objectives aligned with company mission
  • prepare financial reports for executive leadership
  • analyze market sales and trends
  • coordinate activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share
  • ensure brand initiatives are implemented
  • identify key business drivers
  • reinforce and maintain safety and cleanliness standards
  • assist with emergency and security procedures
  • promote good safety practices
  • establish and monitor preventive maintenance programs
  • contribute to sales and marketing strategies
  • participate in community and public relations events
  • perform other tasks to meet or exceed guest satisfaction
