Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project
- Producer Quality Assurance/Truckers Quality Assurance certification
- USDA bonded
- Captive bolt trained to euthanize downed pigs
- Bobcat safety training certificate
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Receive, identify (tattoos), scale, move, and accurately count livestock
- Help manage livestock rest times to meet recommended requirements
- Maintain and monitor compliance with FSIS regulations
- Monitor yard and truck conditions to ensure adherence to corporate and governmental standards
- Oversee animal welfare practices and take corrective action when necessary
- Act as a liaison between procurement and plant operations
- Maintain status updates on all incoming livestock loads
- Complete daily water checks and schedule facility maintenance
- Ensure preventative maintenance on equipment such as bobcat is completed
- Manage inventory of barn supplies
- Train employees on industry best practices and emphasize daily adherence
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of the barn/facility to monitor activity and address employee concerns
- Maintain a leadership style focused on training, support, and promoting professional growth of team members
- Manage employee schedules and set annual goals
- Conduct annual performance reviews and evaluations
- Host regularly scheduled line meetings to communicate company policies, answer questions, and gather feedback
