Job Requirements

  • Experience with commercial kitchen tools such as blenders, grinders, slicers, broilers, convection ovens, deep fryers, griddles, grills, microwave ovens, ranges, rotisseries, steamers
  • proficiency with cutlery including boning knives, chef knives, paring knives
  • familiarity with ovens such as conveyor ovens, rotating rack ovens, salamander ovens, pizza ovens, smokers
  • ability to operate cutting machinery and slicing machinery
  • knowledge of food safety labeling systems
  • experience with supply management software, personal computers, point of sale terminals, menu planning software, inventory management software, recipe cost control software, point-of-sale software, and spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel

Job Qualifications

  • Positive can-do attitude with a willing customer service approach
  • two or more years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • at least six months experience in a similar capacity
  • effective communication skills with managers and kitchen personnel
  • ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
  • able to stand for long periods up to 9 hours

  • conducts oneself with professionalism and respect with a passion and love of food

  • willing to help on the dish line at the end of long days to set an example for up and coming cooks
  • ability to run expo line and execute opening and closing duties
