Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in roadway or construction signage preferred
  • ability to perform physically demanding work
  • familiarity with safety standards and regulations
  • willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • valid driver's license
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Installs and maintains traffic and directional signs along county owned streets and roadways
  • assists with cutting down trees and removing brush that obstructs drivers' views
  • utilizes cutting torch and welding equipment to repair signs
  • assists with proper storage of sign materials, poles, paint and equipment
  • responds to emergency requests for sign repair or replacement
  • assists with making and maintaining customized street name signs
  • inspects county roads for sign and marking maintenance needs
  • places barricades for construction, road hazards, and special events
  • assists various county departments with signage and pavement marking
  • removes non-compliant signs and banners
  • performs related duties as required
