Job Requirements
- a high school diploma or equivalent
- two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- three years of experience in large-scale food service operations including food preparation, food handling, and sanitation
- two years of supervisory experience including planning and directing daily work schedules
- proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office
- proficiency in basic math such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- completion of ASD Serving It Safe food safety class and pass exam within 21 calendar days from date of hire

- three years of responsible experience in large-scale food service operations including food preparation, handling, and sanitation
- two years of supervisory experience including planning and directing employees' daily work
- proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office
- proficiency in basic math including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- completion of ASD Serving It Safe food safety class and exam within 21 days of hire preferred experience in staff kitchen training
- experience with food service point of sale and inventory management systems
- previous experience as a food service manager
Job Duties
- manage all food and supply inventories, ordering, production records, cash handling procedures, bank deposits, and timely submission of paperwork
- understand and apply USDA and State guidelines for meal patterns and service requirements
- monitor and record kitchen equipment temperatures and proper food heating and cooling times according to HACCP
- ensure sanitation and food safety regulations are observed and maintained
- enforce proper food serving techniques and portion controls
- ensure timely preparation of all meal programs and organize and assign work to kitchen staff
- adhere to all Student Nutrition Department and Anchorage School District policies and procedures
