Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in banquet or high volume cooking preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and detailed recipes
  • Availability to work full time Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Willingness to comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others

Job Qualifications

  • Previous banquet cooking, high volume, and catering experience preferred
  • Ability to learn and follow standardized recipes
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday schedule
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Willingness to learn new cooking techniques

Job Duties

  • Learn to read menus to estimate food requirements
  • Order food from suppliers or procure from storage
  • Prepare and cook food following company records and standardized recipes
  • Adjust thermostat controls to regulate oven and cooking equipment temperatures
  • Measure and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods under guidance
  • Test food by tasting, smelling, and piercing to ensure proper cooking
  • Carve meat, portion food on plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes
  • Wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables
  • Butcher chicken, fish, and shellfish as directed
  • Bake bread, rolls, cakes and pastries as permitted
  • Maintain work area and equipment, following sanitation and safety protocols
  • Interact courteously and efficiently with customers and coworkers
  • Ensure compliance with service standards, inventory and cash control procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
