Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior banquet experience required
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • Willingness to learn and be trained
  • Ability to follow food safety standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Reliable transportation to the GD/Uber location in Phoenix, AZ
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Learn to read menu to estimate food requirements
  • Order food from supplier or procure it from storage
  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with company production records and standardized recipes
  • Learn to adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and steam kettles
  • Help measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Bake, roast, broil and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods under guidance
  • Test food by tasting, smelling and piercing to determine that it is cooked
  • Carve meat, portion food on serving plates, and add gravies, sauces and garnishes to fill orders as directed
  • Wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables and fruits
  • Butcher chicken, fish and shellfish as directed
  • Bake bread, rolls, cakes and pastry as course of instruction permits
  • Maintain work area and equipment
  • Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
  • Interact with customers and coworkers in a courteous, efficient and friendly manner
  • Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
