Job Requirements

  • Membership in Utah Army National Guard with compatible military grade and assignment
  • Warrant Officer rank required
  • Must possess and maintain US Army Class II Flight Physical
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance
  • Valid state driver’s license if position requires motor vehicle operation
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Participation in direct deposit payment system mandatory
  • Must comply with Federal Selective Service registration laws if applicable
  • Willingness to accept rotational shifts, uncommon tours, and overtime duties
  • Must wear and use personal protective equipment as required
  • Military medical record must show current physical and cleared drug test
  • Compliance with Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment restrictions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military aviation certifications required
  • Minimum one year of on-the-job experience at the grade or rank below the next higher level
  • At least two years of specialized experience operating main-frame military aircraft including mission planning and preparation
  • Experience in reviewing mission tasking, intelligence, weather data, and flight planning
  • Knowledge of flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, mission tactics, and operating procedures
  • Competence in training crew members and advising commanders in aviation operations

Job Duties

  • Pilot various military helicopters including AH-64, CH-47, UH-60 series, and LUH-72 series
  • Operate flights involving short takeoffs and landings in diverse weather conditions day and night
  • Conduct reconnaissance, observation, and search and rescue missions
  • Perform test flights and maintenance operational checks to ensure aircraft airworthiness
  • Transport cargo and passengers safely to multiple destinations
  • Participate in boards concerning aviation accidents, evaluations, and standardization
  • Conduct flight checks following repairs, maintenance, or aircraft modifications
