Job Requirements

  • Duty weight not to exceed 230 lbs including flight suit and boots

  • Maintains duty weight below 230 lbs (body weight plus uniform and equipment)
  • Must be able to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit
  • Requires close and distant visual capability
  • Periodic hands-to-key typing ability
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must pass additional government background checks including DOD Tier 1 and CAC clearance

Job Qualifications

  • 2000 hours total helicopter flight time
  • 1000 hours pilot-in-command helicopter experience
  • 500 hours cumulative night flying
  • 100 hours cumulative IFR flight experience
  • EMS and FAR 135 experience preferred
  • Commercial Instrument Helicopter rating
  • Current Class II Medical Certificate
  • Preference given to applicants with ATP rating
  • Experience with Airbus EC-135, H145 or UH 72 helicopters with at least 250 hours total
  • Previous NVG experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintains a schedule as set forth by the company
  • Must be prepared to occasionally serve extra duty shifts when called upon due to absence of other pilots
  • Ensures aircraft readiness for flight dispatches including all FAR and REACH requirements
  • Accurately completes all required paperwork such as duty shift change forms and load manifests within scheduled due dates
  • Disseminates pertinent information about flight operations during shift changes and via company communication boards
  • Attends required meetings and trainings including check-flights
  • Upholds company policies, maintains documentation of licensure and certifications
  • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • Attends pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and completes necessary documentation
  • Complies with safety standards to ensure safety of self, medical personnel, patients, and equipment prior to liftoff
  • Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed
  • Uses effective communication methods to coordinate efforts among departments, vendors, and team members
  • Works collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
