Job Requirements
- Must live in ID, UT, MT, CO, WY, ND, SD, NE, or IA or surrounding states
- must maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- must be under 70 years old
- must comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual, and Air Methods policies
- must have current flight experience in category within 24 months
- must maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- non-standard schedule availability
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two to five years related experience and/or training
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and EMS representatives
- flown in category within the previous 24 months
- 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 hours in category
- 1000 hours pilot-in-command in category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine flight time
- 200 hours cross-country flight with at least 50 hours at night
- 100 hours unaided night as pilot-in-command (or equivalent NVG time)
- 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in category
- instrument rating for aircraft category
- fixed wing multiengine rating for twin engine aircraft
- commercial single engine land rating for single engine aircraft
- first or second class FAA medical certificate required
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- completes pre-flight checks verifying aircraft airworthiness
- serves as final authority on operational safety of aircraft, passengers, and cargo
- ensures familiarity with aircraft and medical systems for backup aircraft
- completes required flight documentation thoroughly
- conducts detailed flight planning with little notice
- participates actively in company meetings and community outreach programs
- performs other assigned duties
