Job Requirements

  • Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • be under 70 years old
  • have flown in category within previous 24 months
  • comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies
  • be able to conduct flight planning and pre-flight inspections
  • possess required certificates and ratings
  • willing to work full-time with non-standard schedules
  • live in ID, UT, MT, CO, WY, ND, SD, NE, IA, or surrounding states

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with related experience
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • minimum 2000 total flight hours with 1500 in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine
  • 200 hours cross-country flight time with 50 at night
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC or equivalent NVG hours
  • 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in category
  • instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • fixed wing multiengine rating for twin engine aircraft
  • commercial single engine land certification for single engine aircraft
  • first or second class FAA medical certificate

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • complete pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
  • maintain final authority over aircraft operations and safety
  • be familiar with all aircraft and medical systems
  • ensure completion of required documentation
  • perform detailed flight planning on short notice
  • participate in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • adhere to non-standard work schedules
