Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • two to five years related experience or training
  • holds appropriate FAA certificates and ratings
  • maintains a maximum weight not exceeding 250 pounds
  • under 70 years of age
  • pilots must have flown in category within previous 24 months
  • able to maintain positive interpersonal relationships
  • able to comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies
  • must show regular attendance
  • capable of detailed flight planning
  • able to complete required documentation
  • able to participate in meetings and community activities
  • able to operate EC135 aircraft safely under IFR
  • first or second class FAA medical certificate required

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • two to five years of related experience or training
  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • 500 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 hours at night
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC or equivalent NVG time
  • 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time with 50 hours in flight including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions
  • instrument rating for category and class
  • fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • commercial single-engine land for single-engine aircraft
  • first or second class FAA medical certificate
  • recent flight experience within 24 months

Job Duties

  • Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • completes pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
  • maintains final authority on aircraft operation and safety of passengers and cargo
  • ensures familiarity with aircraft and medical systems including backup aircraft
  • completes required documentation accurately
  • conducts detailed flight planning with limited notice
  • participates in company meetings, community outreach, and safety programs
