Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • Two to five years related experience or training
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • Must be under seventy years old
  • Maintain current and valid FAA medical certificate
  • Meet all IFR flight hour and rating requirements
  • Regular scheduled attendance with 7/7 schedule on 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to perform pre-flight inspections and flight planning
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations
  • Able to work full-time
  • Ability to participate in company meetings and outreach
  • Must have flown in category within last 24 months

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with two to five years related experience or training
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • Fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • Commercial single-engine land certificate for single-engine aircraft
  • First or second class FAA medical certificate
  • Minimum 2500 total flight hours with 2000 in category
  • Minimum 1000 hours PIC in category
  • Minimum 500 rotor wing turbine hours
  • Minimum 500 cross-country flight hours with 50 at night
  • Minimum 100 hours unaided night as PIC
  • Minimum 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time with 50 in flight
  • Pilots must have flown in category within previous 24 months
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Complete pre-flight inspections before every flight ensuring aircraft airworthiness
  • Serve as final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems to support medical crews
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and timely
  • Conduct detailed flight planning under short notice as per standards
  • Participate in company meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach
  • Perform other duties as assigned
