Job Requirements

  • Regular scheduled attendance with 7/7 schedule and 12-hour shifts
  • Must maintain weight under 250 pounds
  • Must be less than 70 years old
  • Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
  • Must meet all regulatory requirements for flight duty

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent and two to five years related experience and/or training
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience flying in category within previous 24 months
  • 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 hours in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • 500 hours cross-country flight time with 50 hours at night
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC or equivalent NVG time
  • 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions
  • Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • Commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
  • Fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate

Job Duties

  • Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Completes pre-flight checks verifying aircraft airworthiness
  • Holds final authority on flight safety for passengers, cargo and equipment
  • Maintains familiarity with aircraft and medical systems for all backup aircraft
  • Completes required documentation accurately
  • Conducts detailed flight planning on short notice
  • Participates in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
