Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Pilots must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months
- Must maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- Must be less than 70 years old
- Commercial and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category meets this requirement
- First or second class FAA Medical certificate required
- Subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Pilots must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months
- Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals and the public
- 2000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1500 flight hours in category (VFR program)
- 1000 hours PIC in category (VFR program)
- 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time (VFR program)
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours at night (VFR program)
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC (VFR program)
- 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category (VFR program)
- 2500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2000 hours in category (IFR program)
- 1000 hours PIC in category (IFR program)
- 500 hours of cross-country flight time (IFR program)
- 100 hours of night flight time (IFR program)
- 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time with at least 50 hours in flight including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions in category (IFR program)
- Commercial and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating meets this requirement
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- Completes pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness and signs off Daily Flight Log
- Holds final authority on aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all aircraft and medical systems including backup aircraft for operational area
- Completes required documentation accurately
- Conducts detailed flight planning with minimal notice to exacting standards
- Participates in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees and community outreach
- Performs other duties as assigned
