Job Requirements
- Maintains weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- under 70 years of age
- regular scheduled attendance required
- able to work 7 days on/7 days off, 12-hour shifts
- compliance with FAR, AIM, and Air Methods policies
- current on flight experience in applicable category within last 24 months
Job Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two to five years of related experience and/or training
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- pilots must have flown in category within the previous 24 months
- 2500 total flight hours with minimum of 2000 flight hours in category
- 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time
- 500 hours of cross-country flight time with at least 50 hours at night
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG time
- 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, 50 hours in flight, including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions in category
- instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
- commercial single-engine land for single-engine aircraft
- first or second class FAA medical certificate required
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- completes pre-flight inspections and verifies the aircraft is airworthy before every flight
- holds final authority for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- maintains thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems including backup aircraft
- completes required documentation accurately and timely
- conducts detailed flight planning under short notice
- participates in meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach programs
- performs other duties as assigned
