Job Requirements
- Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be less than seventy years old
- 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 in category
- 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- 500 hours cross-country flight time including 50 hours at night
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG time
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions
- regular scheduled attendance with 7/7 schedule and 12-hour shifts
- comply with all Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual, General Operations Manual, and Air Methods policies
- operable under Instrument Flight Rules
- non-supervisory position
Job Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two to five years’ related experience and/or training
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- familiarity with aircraft and medical systems
- positive interpersonal skills with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and public
- flight experience in relevant category within 24 months
- instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
- commercial single-engine land license for single-engine aircraft
- possession of First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- complete pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness and sign off on Daily Flight Log
- act as final authority on operations of aircraft ensuring safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems and ensure medical flight team is familiar with medical interior and systems
- complete all required documentation accurately
- conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
- participate regularly in meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach
- perform other duties as assigned
