Job Requirements
- Possess and maintain FAA Commercial Rotor Craft Pilot license with Instrument Rating
- Maintain current FAA 2nd Class or higher Medical Certification
- Undergo FAA and aircraft manufacturer training as required
- Valid motor vehicle driver's license
- Minimum 1000 hours PIC in Rotor Wing Aircraft with 120 hours in last 12 months and 200 hours night PIC
- Provide pilot logbook as proof of hours
- Current FAA Flight Review in Rotor Wing Aircraft
- Experience operating in Class B or restricted airspace
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call
- Pass criminal background check
- Pass traffic record check
- Pass consumer credit check
- Pass reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol test
- Pass post-accident drug and alcohol test
Job Qualifications
- Possess and maintain FAA Commercial Rotor Craft Pilot license with Instrument Rating
- Maintain current FAA 2nd Class or higher Medical Certification
- Valid motor vehicle driver’s license
- Minimum 1000 hours in Rotor Wing Aircraft as Pilot in Command (PIC) with 120 hours in last 12 months and 200 hours as PIC during night
- Current FAA Flight Review in Rotor Wing Aircraft
- Experience operating in Class B or restricted airspace
- Preferably have public safety, military, or law enforcement aviation experience
Job Duties
- Operate as pilot-in-command for safe helicopter operations including interpreting weather reports and determining flight routes
- Provide aerial support for law enforcement missions such as patrol, search and rescue, surveillance, and information gathering
- Execute flights in complex airspace including Class B, Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA), and Flight Restricted Zone (FRZ)
- Conduct day and night flight missions using Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) systems to locate suspects and missing persons
- Transport personnel and equipment for specialized missions including Emergency Response Team (ERT), K-9, Dive Team, and Crime Scene Search
- Provide live video downlink to Joint Operations Command Center (JOCC) and other command centers
- Maintain flight logs and pilot records in compliance with FAA regulations and department procedures
