This National Guard position is a Title 32 Excepted Service role specifically tailored for an experienced Helicopter Pilot. Job Requirements

  • Must hold military grade W-1 or W-2
  • Must have at least 24 months of specialized experience operating military aircraft
  • Experience in mission planning, preparation, and execution
  • Competence in reviewing intelligence and weather information
  • Ability to conduct preflight inspections and assess aircraft loading
  • Experience performing or supervising navigation, search and rescue, and reconnaissance missions
  • Capability to supervise and train crew members on mission-specific tasks
  • Familiarity with military and occupational safety regulations
  • Education cannot substitute for specialized experience

Job Qualifications

  • Military grade W-1 or W-2

  • Proven ability to conduct crew briefings and flight planning
  • Skilled in aircraft preflight inspection and equipment loading

  • Knowledge of Department of Defense, Army, National Guard Bureau, and OSHA safety policies and regulations

Job Duties

  • Pilot a variety of rotary wing aircraft in support of mission functions
  • Review and analyze mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information
  • Conduct crew briefings and file flight plans
  • Perform aircraft preflight inspections and equipment assessments
  • Supervise navigation, search and rescue operations, or surveillance and reconnaissance
  • Conduct or supervise the training of crew members in mission-specific tasks
  • Develop plans and policies, monitor operations, and advise commanders on aviation matters
