Job Requirements
- Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be under 70 years old
- provide regular attendance on a 7/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts
- comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, AIM, and General Operations Manual guidelines
- ability to complete detailed flight planning with little notice
- comfortable operating complex aircraft and medical systems
- ability to pass FAA medical certification
- maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- previous flight experience within category in last 24 months
- able to adhere to safety and operational protocols
Job Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two to five years of related experience and/or training
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 in category
- 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- 200 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 hours at night
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG
- 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight in category
- instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
- commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
- first or second class FAA medical certificate
- previous flight experience within last 24 months
- strong interpersonal skills with EMS representatives, hospitals, and public
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- complete pre-flight inspections verifying airworthiness by signing off Daily Flight Log
- conduct complete walk-around of aircraft before and after each flight
- serve as final authority on operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- maintain thorough familiarity with aircraft and medical systems
- ensure medical flight team is comfortable with medical interior and systems
- complete required documentation accurately
- conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
- participate in company meetings, activities, community outreach, and projects
- perform other duties as assigned
