Job Requirements
- Maintains weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- less than seventy years old
- 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 in category
- 1000 pilot-in-command hours in category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- 500 hours cross-country flight time including 50 at night
- 100 hours unaided night as pilot in command
- 75 hours simulated or actual instrument time including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions
- complies with Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual, and company policies
- able to work 7-on, 7-off schedule with 12-hour shifts
- able to perform pre-flight inspections and flight planning
- participates regularly in company activities
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two to five years' related flight experience
- instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- FAA commercial pilot certification
- multiengine rating for twin engine aircraft
- valid first or second class FAA medical certificate
- experience flying in category within previous 24 months
- strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with medical and EMS teams
- ability to maintain professionalism and safety under pressure
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- completes pre-flight inspections verifying airworthiness
- serves as final authority on safety and operations of flight
- ensures familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems
- completes required flight documentation accurately
- conducts detailed flight planning
- participates in company meetings, activities, and community outreach
- performs other assigned duties
