Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent and 2-5 years related experience or equivalent combination
- maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- under 70 years old
- commercial pilot experience within previous 24 months
- regular scheduled attendance
- complies with DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing
- ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily
Job Qualifications
- FAA commercial helicopter certificate with instrument helicopter rating
- BA or BS degree preferred
- minimum 2500 hours helicopter flight time, 3000 hours preferred
- 1000 hours pilot-in-command
- 1000 hours turbine helicopter
- 200 hours night flying
- 100 hours instrument flying preferred
- instrument qualified and current
- night qualified and current
- factory approved ground and flight school training
- excellent interpersonal skills
- FAA second class flight physical annually
- experience flying in category for commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- completes pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
- holds final authority for flight operations and passenger safety
- thoroughly familiarizes with aircraft and medical systems
- completes required documentation
- conducts detailed flight planning with little notice
- participates in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
