Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent and 2-5 years related experience or equivalent combination
  • maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • under 70 years old
  • commercial pilot experience within previous 24 months
  • regular scheduled attendance
  • complies with DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing
  • ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily

Job Qualifications

  • FAA commercial helicopter certificate with instrument helicopter rating
  • BA or BS degree preferred
  • minimum 2500 hours helicopter flight time, 3000 hours preferred
  • 1000 hours pilot-in-command
  • 1000 hours turbine helicopter
  • 200 hours night flying
  • 100 hours instrument flying preferred
  • instrument qualified and current
  • night qualified and current
  • factory approved ground and flight school training
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • FAA second class flight physical annually
  • experience flying in category for commercial operator or military within previous 24 months

Job Duties

  • Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • completes pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
  • holds final authority for flight operations and passenger safety
  • thoroughly familiarizes with aircraft and medical systems
  • completes required documentation
  • conducts detailed flight planning with little notice
  • participates in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
