Job Requirements

  • Maintain weight not exceeding 250 pounds
  • under 70 years old
  • comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and Air Methods policies
  • regular scheduled attendance
  • maintain positive interpersonal relationships with EMS, hospitals, and public
  • adhere to drug and alcohol testing requirements per DOT/FAA
  • able to perform essential functions satisfactorily

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • two to five years of related experience or training
  • commercial pilot and instrument ratings for category and class
  • minimum 2000 total flight hours with 1500 in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • 200 cross-country flight hours with 50 at night
  • 100 hours unaided night PIC (with NVG substitution limitations)
  • 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight
  • ATP rating preferred
  • FAA first or second class medical certificate
  • flown commercially or militarily within previous 24 months

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • complete pre-flight inspections verifying airworthiness
  • hold final authority for aircraft operation and passenger safety
  • maintain familiarity with aircraft and medical systems including backups
  • complete required documentation
  • conduct detailed flight planning with short notice
  • participate in meetings, projects, and community outreach
  • perform other assigned duties
