Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • Two to five years related experience or training
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Maintain weight under 250 pounds
  • Be under 70 years old
  • Maintain instrument flight rules rating
  • Hold first or second class FAA medical certificate
  • Minimum 2500 total flight hours
  • Minimum 2000 flight hours in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • 500 hours cross-country flight time with 50 hours at night
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC
  • 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time with 50 in flight

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with two to five years of related experience or training
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • Have flown in category within the previous 24 months
  • Hold instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • Possess fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • Possess commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
  • Hold first or second class FAA medical certificate
  • Meet the flight experience minimums including 2500 total flight hours, 2000 in category, 1000 PIC in category, 500 rotor wing turbine hours, 500 cross-country hours including 50 at night, 100 unaided night PIC hours, and 75 actual or simulated instrument hours

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Complete pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
  • Maintain final authority for aircraft, passenger, cargo, and equipment safety
  • Obtain thorough knowledge of all aircraft and medical systems used in the operational area
  • Ensure medical flight team familiarity and comfort with aircraft medical interiors and systems
  • Complete all required flight and operational documentation
  • Conduct detailed flight planning on short notice
  • Participate in company meetings, activities, and community outreach
  • Perform other duties as assigned
