Job Requirements

  • Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • Be less than seventy years old
  • Have 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 hours in category
  • Have 1000 hours PIC in category
  • Have 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • Have 200 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 hours at night
  • Have 100 hours unaided night as PIC or equivalent NVG time
  • Have 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and category
  • Comply with drug and alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Follow Air Methods employment practices and policies

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with two to five years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Pilots must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within the previous 24 months
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • Hold commercial and instrument ratings for category and class of aircraft
  • Hold ATP rating in category
  • Hold First or Second Class FAA medical certificate

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Complete pre-flight inspections verifying the aircraft is airworthy
  • Exercise final authority over aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems, ensuring familiarity of medical teams
  • Complete required operational documentation
  • Conduct detailed flight planning to exacting standards on short notice
  • Participate in company meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach
  • Perform other duties as assigned
