Job Requirements

  • Maintain a weight under 250 pounds
  • Be under 70 years of age
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Piloted in category within the last 24 months
  • Comply with all FAA, FAR, AIM and Air Methods policies
  • Meet all medical and certification requirements
  • Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • Ability to maintain a friendly and professional working environment

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent education
  • Two to five years of related experience or training
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Instrument Rating for aircraft category
  • Commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
  • Fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • Valid FAA First or Second Class Medical Certificate
  • Minimum 2500 total flight hours with 2000 hours in category
  • At least 1000 hours as pilot in command in category
  • 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time
  • 500 hours of cross-country flight including 50 hours at night
  • 100 hours unaided night as pilot in command or equivalent NVG time
  • 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time with 50 in flight, including 20 actual instrument flight hours

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally
  • Complete pre-flight inspections confirming airworthiness
  • Serve as final authority on aircraft and passenger safety
  • Maintain familiarity with aircraft and medical systems
  • Ensure medical flight team is comfortable with aircraft systems
  • Complete all required documentation accurately
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice
  • Participate in company meetings and community outreach
  • Perform other duties as assigned
