Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree
- Eight to ten years related experience and/or training
- 2000 hours as a pilot
- 1000 hours as pilot in command
- 250 hours cross country time
- 250 hours at night unaided
- Commercial helicopter pilot certification with instrument rating
- Current FAA Class 2 medical certificate
- NVG experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory documents
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in computer software
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in outdoor and noisy environments
- Ability to maintain physical and mental health required for pilot duties
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Eight to ten years of related experience and training
- Minimum 2000 hours piloting experience
- At least 1000 hours as PIC
- Minimum 250 cross-country flight hours
- Minimum 250 night unaided flight hours
- Commercial helicopter pilot certification
- Instrument rating
- NVG experience preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical and regulatory information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts including geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Job Duties
- Act as pilot flying helicopters for tours under VFR day/night/NVG conditions
- Report directly to Chief Pilot or Lead Pilot
- Ensure safe conduct of flights assigned
- Comply with all federal, state, local, and foreign regulations
- Perform preflight inspections and verify aircraft readiness
- Brief passengers according to 14 CFR 135.117
- Check NOTAMs and weather conditions
- Prepare flight plans
- Ensure aircraft cleanliness and airworthiness
- Calculate aircraft weight, balance, and performance requirements
- Use checklists and standard operating procedures
- Make decisions on flight delays, cancellations, or route deviations
- Notify authorities of any accidents or unusual incidents
- Complete post-flight duties including logs and reports
- Refuse transportation if safety risks are identified
- Maintain current qualifications including medical certificates
- Assist with cleaning aircraft and work areas
