Job Requirements
- Commercial rotorcraft-helicopter certificate and instrument-helicopter rating
- 2,000 total flight hours or 1,500 total flight hours with recent and specific flight experience
- At least 1,200 helicopter flight hours with specific flight experience
- At least 1,000 hours as rotorcraft PIC
- At least 50 hours aided night vision goggle (NVGs)
- 50 hours unaided if pilot does not meet aided NVGs recommended hours
- A minimum of 500 hours of turbine time
- FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
- Maintain a weight not to exceed 240 pounds/108 kilograms with all flight equipment
- Must be able to sit for extended periods to perform flight duties
- Ability to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit when requested
Job Qualifications
- Commercial rotorcraft-helicopter certificate with instrument-helicopter rating
- Minimum 2,000 total flight hours or 1,500 total flight hours with recent and specific flight experience
- At least 1,200 helicopter flight hours with specific flight experience
- Minimum 1,000 hours as rotorcraft PIC
- Minimum 50 hours aided night vision goggle (NVGs) use
- Minimum 50 hours unaided NVG use if aided hours are not met
- Minimum 500 hours of turbine time
- FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Job Duties
- Maintains responsibility for and final authority over the operation of the aircraft
- Operates aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy following pre-flight and post-flight inspection checklist and all required documentation is on board
- Prepares pre-flight planning and weather checks according to FARs and Mercy Flight Central GOM
- Communicates effectively and timely with clinical crew, maintenance personnel, communication specialists, and patients or family members
- Coordinates and communicates decision-making processes with all team members
- Completes post-flight duties including flight/duty logs, maintenance logbook, discrepancy forms, equipment checks, and aircraft cleaning
- Follows all company policies, procedures, workplace conduct, safety practices, and confidentiality standards to ensure smooth operation
