Job Requirements

  • Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • be less than seventy years old
  • pilots must have flown in category commercially or militarily within previous 24 months
  • regular scheduled attendance
  • comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies
  • ability to perform all essential functions satisfactorily

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • two to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • commercial pilot license with instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • ATP rating preferred
  • valid first or second class FAA medical certificate
  • minimum 2000 total flight hours with 1500 in category
  • minimum 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • 200 hours cross-country flight time including 50 hours at night
  • 100 hours unaided night PIC or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG time
  • 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight category

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • complete pre-flight inspections before every flight verifying aircraft is airworthy
  • perform walk-around inspections prior to entering cockpit and post-flight
  • maintain final authority for aircraft operation and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
  • ensure familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft
  • complete required documentation accurately
  • conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
  • participate regularly in company meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach
  • perform other duties as assigned
