Job Requirements
- Maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be less than seventy years old
- 2,000 total flight hours with minimum 1,500 flight hours in category for VFR
- 1,000 hours PIC in category for VFR
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- 200 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 night hours
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC or 100 hours NVG with minimum 50 unaided
- 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and category for VFR
- or for IFR: 2,500 total flight hours with minimum 2,000 hours in category
- 1,000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours cross-country flight time
- 100 hours night flight time
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time with at least 50 in flight and 20 hours actual instrument conditions in category
- drug and/or alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two to five years related experience and/or training
- bachelor's degree preferred
- commercial and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category meets requirement
- first or second class FAA medical certificate
- pilots must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals and the public
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- completes pre-flight inspections and signs off Daily Flight Log before every flight
- exercises final authority for safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- maintains thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems and ensures medical crew familiarity
- completes all required documentation accurately
- conducts detailed flight planning with little notice
- participates in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
- performs other duties as assigned
