Job Requirements

  • Minimum total flight time of 2,000 hours
  • Minimum helicopter flight time of 1,200 hours
  • Minimum pilot-in-command helicopter time of 1,000 hours
  • Minimum turbine helicopter time of 500 hours
  • Minimum cross-country flight time of 500 hours
  • Minimum night flight time of 100 hours with 50 unaided
  • Minimum instrument flight time of 75 hours with 50 in flight
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft Certificate and Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to pass required medical and physical demands
  • Capable of prolonged standing, sitting, and walking
  • Availability for extensive travel
  • Commitment to maintain company confidentiality
  • Compliance with FARs and company policies

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Job Qualifications

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft Certificate and Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • Airline Transport Pilot Rotorcraft Preferred
  • FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong initiative
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to create a professional environment demonstrating teamwork
  • Proficient in directing and guiding
  • Ability to maintain awareness of aviation safety procedures
  • Comfortable with extensive travel and work schedule demands.

Job Duties

  • Maintain clear understanding of company, local base, and customer policies and procedures
  • Comply with all FARs, Operations Specifications, Operations Manual, Flight Manual, local base and company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with Lead Pilot to complete Local Base Orientation Training before reporting to duty
  • Ensure familiarization with systems and configuration of assigned aircraft prior to accepting duty
  • Communicate work assignment details with Operational Control Center for flight input
  • Update Aircraft Status in Complete Flight system accurately and timely
  • Promote effective and courteous communication with co-workers and customers
  • Notify Regional Aviation Manager of interpersonal conflicts or incidents requiring Aviation Safety Report
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned aircraft interior and exterior
  • Conduct pre and post-shift briefings with fellow pilots on weather, safety reports, and aircraft airworthiness
  • Obtain and update weather briefings and coordinate with Communication Center or customer
  • Participate in customer safety and public relations training
  • Engage in Metro Aviation training programs including Instrument Proficiency Program
  • Perform proper pre-flight inspections, servicing and confirm aircraft airworthiness
  • Notify maintenance of aircraft discrepancies and document accordingly
  • Ensure all aircraft publications are present and up to date
  • Maintain company confidentiality
  • When authorized, exercise Operational Control Center duties to initiate, conduct or terminate flights.
