Job Requirements

  • Must hold a Class A commercial driver’s license or chauffeur’s license depending on state appropriate for vehicle weight
  • must pass background check and drug testing as required by federal and state departments of transportation
  • must pass DOT physical
  • must be at least 21 years old
  • able to sit for prolonged periods in a trailer cab
  • able to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • able to travel frequently
  • comply with clean shaven requirement where applicable
  • pass 10-panel drug screen as condition of employment

Job Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
  • ability to remain focused in a busy environment
  • must hold a valid Class A commercial driver’s license or chauffeur’s license as appropriate for vehicle weight
  • must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and state regulations
  • must pass DOT physical as trucks exceed 10,000 pounds
  • must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle

Job Duties

  • Operate vehicle according to state and federal transportation laws
  • transport loads safely and timely over required route obeying all traffic and safety regulations
  • maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas following loading crew signals
  • assist with or perform loading and unloading of goods and materials using specialized equipment when necessary
  • maintain signed invoices shipping bills of lading and other required paperwork and deliver to appropriate staff after deliveries
  • facilitate routine service on trucks including checking oil water gasoline and air and report maintenance issues to Shipping Supervisor
  • arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading
  • perform other related duties as assigned
