Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and state department(s) of transportation
  • Must pass DOT physical
  • Prolonged periods sitting in trailer cab
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • CDL drivers may need to be clean shaven for some customers
  • Position contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • Must hold a Class A CDL or appropriate chauffeur's license
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment
  • Experience operating heavy equipment trucks safely and efficiently
  • Ability to understand and follow loading crew signals
  • Knowledge of transportation laws and safety regulations
  • Effective communication skills with customers and staff

Job Duties

  • Operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
  • Transport loads safely and timely over required routes obeying all traffic and safety regulations
  • Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas following loading crew signals
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when necessary
  • Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other paperwork and deliver documentation to appropriate staff
  • Facilitate routine service on trucks including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air and report maintenance issues
  • Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
