Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and state department(s) of transportation
- Must pass DOT physical
- Prolonged periods sitting in trailer cab
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to travel frequently
- CDL drivers may need to be clean shaven for some customers
- Position contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
Job Qualifications
- Must hold a Class A CDL or appropriate chauffeur's license
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to remain focused in a busy environment
- Experience operating heavy equipment trucks safely and efficiently
- Ability to understand and follow loading crew signals
- Knowledge of transportation laws and safety regulations
- Effective communication skills with customers and staff
Job Duties
- Operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
- Transport loads safely and timely over required routes obeying all traffic and safety regulations
- Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas following loading crew signals
- Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when necessary
- Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other paperwork and deliver documentation to appropriate staff
- Facilitate routine service on trucks including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air and report maintenance issues
- Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
- Perform other related duties as assigned
