Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of experience in food service or similar role
  • Ability to supervise kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to work full time
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain schedules

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to plan and direct food preparation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with healthcare food service preferred
  • Familiarity with kitchen safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Supervise the tray line ensuring the accuracy of resident trays plate presentation food safety and sanitation
  • Monitor the schedule ensuring proper coverage for each shift in the absence of the Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director and report any problems
  • Perform daily inspection in the dining areas and kitchen for safety and sanitation
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase foodstuffs
  • Receive and examine foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications
  • Supervise personnel engaged in preparing cooking and serving meats sauces vegetables soups and other foods
  • Plan cooking schedules to have food ready on time but not too far in advance
