Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills
  • Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program or HUC certification preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in a medical environment preferred
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Working knowledge of EHR systems, EPIC preferred
  • Outstanding customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in patient care
  • Availability for flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Maintains certifications and licensure per work unit requirements

Job Duties

  • Provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the healthcare team
  • Monitor and order supplies
  • Promptly respond to patient call lights and elevate patient needs to nursing staff
  • Assist care team with managing orders in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff
  • Act as a resource to members of the healthcare team
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support the healthcare team by anticipating and responding to team requests and patient needs
