Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Unit Coordinator or Clerk program or one-year related job experience or college coursework
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Proficient typing, spelling, and medical terminology skills
  • Ability to work full-time evening shifts (3 PM to 11 PM)
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Ability to use hospital information systems proficiently
  • Ability to maintain medical records accurately
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to support patient needs in a courteous and timely manner
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Ability to participate in team activities and quality improvement initiatives

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Perform receptionist and secretary activities embodying the principles of service
  • Greet patients, guests, and staff courteously
  • Utilize professional telephone etiquette including answering calls promptly and routing messages accurately
  • Use basic computer skills to retrieve and process clinical information from hospital systems
  • Maintain bulletin boards, unit manuals, files, and logs
  • Organize and prioritize work effectively
  • Maintain unit medical records properly and report patient status updates
  • Track, monitor, and order equipment and supplies including coordinating repairs
  • Assist with indirect patient care duties, including room preparation, meal service, and transportation
  • Support patient and guest relations by addressing complaints and maintaining positive rapport
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities
  • Maintain a neat and orderly nursing station environment
  • Adhere to patient confidentiality and support patient/family rights
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development
  • Collaborate as an interdependent team member supporting the unit's operation
  • Demonstrate effective productivity and resource management
  • Assume responsibility for own growth and development
