Job Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Subject to background and security investigation
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Selective service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Must submit to urinalysis drug screening prior to appointment
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required
- Complete online onboarding process with acceptable ID
- Unable to use non-REAL ID compliant driver's licenses for employment ID after May 7, 2025
- Serve a 1 or 2-year trial period evaluating fitness and employment suitability
- No telework or virtual work option available
- Permanent change of station and relocation incentives not authorized
- Physical requirements include sedentary work with occasional walking, standing, and lifting light items under 15 pounds

Job Qualifications
- United States citizenship
- One year of experience in a healthcare field demonstrating ability to perform telehealth technician duties or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and programs
- Ability to communicate, consult, and interact effectively with healthcare team members and patients
- Ability to provide and receive guidance and technical direction
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex written instructions
- Knowledge of general clinical policies and procedures in healthcare
- Skilled in using telehealth technologies for clinical encounters
- No certification required
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams
Job Duties
- Preparing the clinical environment including medical and telecommunications equipment for clinical examination and treatment
- Serving as a telepresenter during clinical video telehealth and VVC encounters by establishing and maintaining video conferencing connections, introducing patient and provider, and assisting clinicians
- Serving as an imager and data manager for store and forward telehealth clinical encounters by capturing images, collecting data, and transmitting them electronically
- Ensuring patient care safety by following appropriate cleaning procedures and patient safety guidelines
- Completing standardized clinical questionnaires and templates within scope of training and guidelines
- Protecting patient privacy by complying with information security and privacy regulations
- Scheduling telehealth appointments using electronic resource-based scheduling systems
- Screening patients for telehealth modality and referring those who do not meet criteria to appropriate care
- Monitoring and maintaining schedules for rooms, patients, technologies, providers, and presenters
- Providing patient education via approved materials
- Supporting Veterans in completing patient satisfaction surveys
- Communicating effectively with clinical and administrative staff locally and remotely
- Configuring, installing, troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintaining telehealth technology
- Managing telehealth technology security and maintenance through work orders and inventory tracking
- Providing education and training to Veterans and clinicians on telehealth technology use
- Maintaining knowledge of telehealth-related technologies, computer hardware, and software
- Collaborating with Facility Telehealth Coordinator to address process issues and equipment needs
- Arranging and conducting test video calls with Veterans to prepare for clinical encounters
- Ensuring resources and contingency plans are maintained for telehealth providers
- Completing other assigned duties
