Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Experience driving large vehicles, preferably buses or mobile units
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
  • Strong attention to safety regulations
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work part-time
  • Grant-funded position requiring adaptability

Job Qualifications

  • Valid and current commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Proven experience driving large vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures
  • Ability to maintain detailed vehicle and legal logs
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to handle and manage event setup equipment
  • Physical capability to lift up to 20 pounds

Job Duties

  • Operate and safely drive Hampton University Health Mobile unit
  • Inspect the Health Mobile prior and post trips
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of mobile unit such as oil changes, fuel check, and fluid checks
  • Maintain event equipment including tables, awnings, banners, and televisions
  • Maintain all DOT and vehicle logs as required by law and university documents
  • Actively document and report any malfunctions or accidents
  • Perform related work as required
  • Other duties as assigned
