This role entails managing financial goals, establishing and maintaining budgets, supervising staff, and driving marketing initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and business success. The Health Club & Spa Manager is expected to provide strategic leadership by developing comprehensive operational manuals, policies, and procedures that govern facility services, administration, and maintenance. This role also requires proactive labor management, ensuring efficient staffing through recruitment, hiring, and training to maintain a professional and service-oriented team. \n\nIn addition, the manager will be responsible for managing facility maintenance and inventory control, routinely conducting maintenance checks and implementing preventive measures to uphold high standards and safety. A strong focus on customer service is essential, including monitoring guest feedback and addressing requests promptly to exceed guest expectations continuously. Financial oversight includes ensuring that the spa operates within budgetary guidelines, maximizing retail and service sales through effective planning and staff goal-setting. Competitive market analysis and promotion strategies are also key responsibilities to position the spa advantageously within the local market, including outreach to conference groups and development of retail sales plans. \n\nThe role requires a hands-on manager who can foster a positive and motivated team environment, assess employee progress regularly, provide feedback, and engage in performance evaluations. The manager must ensure compliance with all state licensing, health standards, and company policies, including adherence to a drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free workforce. Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in hospitality management or related field required
  • DEM certification required
  • minimum two years of hotel spa experience required
  • minimum two years of spa management experience required
  • legal eligibility to work in the USA
  • ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs infrequently

Job Duties

  • Develops a comprehensive standard facility operation manual including written policies and procedures for all facility services administration and maintenance
  • promotes products specials and keeps spa in line with competitive pricing
  • develops and maintains accurate facility maintenance procedures and checklists through routine preventative maintenance and repair
  • maintains a monthly inventory of supplies equipment and or products
  • creates a team of service providers to meet all aspects of professionalism and service demands by recruiting interviewing hiring and training staff
  • ensures staff is knowledgeable about services products programs and activities through scheduled meetings and training workshops
  • assesses employees progress provides reinforcement and disciplinary measures and participates in performance evaluations and termination processes when necessary
  • provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback using comment cards and other techniques
  • ensures facility is safe secure and accessible only to guests
  • manages fiscal responsibility through scheduling and budget adherence
  • completes competitive analysis to position spa in marketplace
  • promotes spa services to conference groups
  • develops and implements retail sales plans and staff service goals
  • develops seasonal utilization schedules for budgeting and payroll management
  • controls usage of professional products using cost analysis and inventory systems
  • maintains effective inventory system with par stock levels
  • ensures compliance with state licensing and health requirements
  • complies with company drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policies
  • performs other duties as assigned
